I well remember this case and was deeply moved by it. I never forgot the
attacks on university professors.  Later, in Canada, as President of the
Canadian Association of University Professors (CAUT) I fought some similar
cases of attacks on university personnel including one that also became
world famous: the case of Dr. Nancy Olivieri at Sick Kids Hospital and the
University of Toronto.  It also eventuated in the murder of President
Sherman, and his wife, President of Apotex Pharmaceutical Corp.  It was not
related to Communism but to other issues.  I also was able to save the life
of the Acting Pres. of the Ethiopian Teachers Federation and get him and his
wife and children safely into Canada where they still reside. That case
involved the national politics of the government of Ethiopia.  There were
also a number of other cases too in which I was deeply engaged.  Thank you
for sending this.  I will check out the book you referred too.
