Many have been detained, jailed, and dismissed from their posts through statutory decrees. Among those affected are the “<a onclick="return checkLinkHref(this.href);" target="_blank" href="https://barisicinakademisyenler.net/English" style="text-decoration:none"><font color="#4285f4">Academics for Peace</font></a>”, who signed a declaration calling on the Turkish government to end human rights violations in the Kurdish provinces.</font></p><p><font face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">As Academics for Peace-Toronto, we endorse the crowdfunding that has been initiated by the <a onclick="return checkLinkHref(this.href);" target="_blank" href="http://riturkey.org/" style="text-decoration:none"><font color="#4285f4">Research Institute on Turkey</font></a> and <a onclick="return checkLinkHref(this.href);" target="_blank" href="http://www.bostonbul.org/?page_id=88" style="text-decoration:none"><font color="#4285f4">Bostonbul</font></a>, both 503(1)c non-profits, and <a onclick="return checkLinkHref(this.href);" target="_blank" href="http://gitamerica.blogspot.ca/" style="text-decoration:none"><font color="#4285f4">GIT-NA</font></a> with the goal to raise an initial amount of <b>$105,000 USD</b> to support at least <b>35 academics</b> for <b>6 months</b>.
