The attacks on freedom of expression, academic freedom and dissent rights are becoming sharper. The suppression of basic civil and human rights in Toronto during the G20 and the ongoing legal actions against arrested activists highlight the shape the security state is taking. But these police actions are merely the tip of the iceberg. Migrants, indigenous people and people with limited incomes face this coercive policing on a daily basis.
