Horace Campbell holds a joint Professorship in the Department of African American Studies and Department of Political Science, Maxwell School- Syracuse University. He is the Director of the Africa Initiative at Syracuse University.  He has written over 8 books, including Rasta and Resistance: from Marcus Garvey to Walter Rodney (African World Press, 1985); Barack Obama and 21st Century Politics: A Revolutionary Moment in the USA. (Pluto Press, London 2010); and  Global NATO and the Catastrophic Failure in Libya: Lessons for Africa in the Forging of African Unity (Monthly Review Press, New York. 2013). A Graduate of the University of Toronto,  Campbell was a founding member of the Black Education Project (BEP), and involved in the establishment of the Transitional Year Program at the University of Toronto.
