*December 7, 2017, 7-9pm*
The Tranzac Club, 292 Brunswick Ave.
https://www.facebook.com/events/1688313157907269/
In the context of the recent OPSEU back-to-work order and with
possibility of more campus strikes to come in the new year, this salon
will explore the politics of bargaining in higher education. Join us for
a discussion among active members of faculty, librarian, instructor,
student, and teaching assistants' unions and associations from George
Brown, York and U of T. We ask: What models of higher education are our
institutions assembling today? How can we build solidarity across
divided campuses and across institutions in the region? How can we build
stronger solidarity with and among undergraduates? And how can campus
labour movements build cultures and solidarities that centre racial and
gender justice in their work?
Speakers include:
Natalie Wood, Professor, School of Social and Community Services, George
Brown College
Pamela Arancibia, CUPE 3902 Chair
Nour Alideeb, Chairperson, Canadian Federation of Students - Ontario
Paul Downes, faculty member, department of English, U of T
Member of CUPE 3903
The evening will be kicked off with music by our very own Ken Kawashima
- come join us for music and discussion, and celebrate the end of term!
Wheelchair Accessible and gender neutral washrooms on site.
*Creating Access to UT for Precarious Status Students:*
First Brainstorming Session
*December 8th, 4-6 p.m*

the corner of Willcocks and Spadina, just go straight up the stairs from
the porters lodge and there is a narrow small corridor right at the
other side of the stairs, the room is there).
Please join us and spread the word – we will be joined by Tanya Aberman,
Research and Project Coordinator, FCJ Refugee Centre, who will share
some insights from the initiative started a York University where some
students are now successfully enrolled in degree programs.
