Dear colleagues and friends,

As some of you will recall, the List took shape out of organizing during
the 2015 CUPE strike on the U of T campus. It is almost three years
later and CUPE locals are back at the bargaining tables. This week's
salon thus takes on some added importance, and we hope to see many of
you there. This is also a chance to toast the end of the term with
friends, discussion, and great music!

*The Politics of Bargaining in Higher Education: *

This event of the List will explore the politics of bargaining in higher
education through a panel discussion among active members of faculty,
librarian, instructor, student, and teaching assistants' unions and
associations from local universities and colleges. Speakers will explore
the common and distinct experiences of bargaining for unions
representing teaching labour across institutions, and ask a series of
questions about how we can build stronger solidarities in this moment.
How can we build solidarity across divided campuses and across
institutions in the region? How can we build stronger solidarity with
and among undergraduates? And how can campus labour movements build
cultures and solidarities that centre racial and gender justice in their
work?

/Speakers include:/
Natalie Wood, Professor, School of Social and Community Services, George
Brown College
Pamela Arancibia, CUPE 3902 Chair

Nour Alideeb, Chairperson, Canadian Federation of Students - Ontario

Studies, York University
