Please help us circulate this announcement widely.
Court Decision
On June 6, 2011, at 10:00 AM, the judge will announce his decision regarding whether to commit Hassan for extradition.
When: Monday, June 6, 2011, at 10:00 AM
Where: Ontario Superior Court, 161 Elgin Street, Ottawa
The judge has already signaled that he is likely to rule in favor of committal because Canada’s Extradition Law does not allow him to discard the flawed handwriting evidence, even though he described it as “very problematic”, “very confusing”, and with “suspect conclusions”.
The handwriting analysis submitted by French authorities claims to have found a resemblance between samples of Hassan’s handwriting and five words printed in simplistic block letters on a Paris hotel registration card in 1980.
Hassan’s palm prints and finger prints do not match those of the suspect. Yet this information was excluded by the court and was not considered.

Come to a rally on the day of the decision to show your support for Hassan and protest unfair extradition proceedings.

After the rally, at 9:50 am, we will accompany Hassan into the courtroom.

Petition for Renewal of Hassan’s Bail
Hassan’s current bail will expire if the judge decides to commit Hassan for extradition. We have launched a petition asking the bail judge at the Ontario Court of Appeal to renew Hassan's bail while Hassan is appealing his extradition order.
We urge you to sign our petition, before June 6, at:
http://www.diabpetition.org
Since his release from detention on April 1, 2009, Hassan has dutifully abided by all the terms of his bail, and has not committed a single infraction.
This petition is not a declaration of guilt or innocence. Rather, it is an attempt to uphold the principle of innocent until proven otherwise, and the right for Hassan to be free on bail while defending himself in the courts.
Thank you for your continued support.
