Greetings,
We have had a change of plans for our meeting next Tuesday, June 12th. Alan Hirsch intended to give a presentation on Turkmenistan, but he will now share his experience of attending an educational conference at the Perimeter Institute in Waterloo last April. Besides discussing some of the general and very interesting features of the PI, he will show a special PI DVD titled "The Challenge of Quantum Reality", which begins with the basics of wave-particle duality, but then highlights modern quantum research and ends with a brief discussion of quantum computing. The DVD will be followed by a discussion of what we know (or perhaps would like to know) about quantum computing.
Join us at 7:30 P.M. in Room 408 of the Physics Building at U of T for what promises to be a very enlightening programme.
