Hi Ed,
I'm really sorry to hear that the group is still having problems with attendance and in having someone willing to take over from you.
You have made such a major contribution to trying to keep things going, but at some point there's nothing you can do if others don't step forward. At least you will know that you have given it your best shot to keep things going when it would have ended much sooner had you not been there. I do remember how disheartening and sometimes embarrassing it was to bring in a speaker and have only a handful of people there to hear their talk. I regret that we were unable to continue helping with speakers but things changed so much for us over a short time. Doug's condition has continued to decline. He walks with some difficulty now and the loss of speech along with cognitive impairment have placed great limitations on what he can do. Life can be harsh sometimes. However, he still enjoys seeing friends and family and going for walks and small outings.
I wish you all the best and thank you for the great contribution you have made.
Sincerely,
Linda Wickland

Greetings,
At our October meeting, two weeks ago, which was
attended by four members and me, we discussed the future
prospects of our group. Many interesting ideas and
thoughtful suggestions were proposed but the major problem
of who is to implement these changes was not
resolved.
As previously advised, I am stepping down from my
role and unless someone volunteers to replace me our group
will not continue.
Are you that person?
Ed Morrison
